What spawned this project, the Photographer's Soul, was a basic feeling that I had studied photography for a very long time but felt no closer to defining how a great composition was crafted. Many times I would hit a great composition or communicate a clear feeling in a photo. Attempts to repeat the process were difficult. I ventured to find out how one can systematically learn to create fantastic compositions by asking others. I found out just about everyone agreed it was just a gut feeling you had. Maybe it is just a gut feeling or maybe it can be taught better than just feeling around for it. This project is interviews, featured works, and essays around the subjects of composition and communication in photography. I hope you enjoy.
