Want to “Own” your Kindle Purchases?

What?!? You mean to say I don’t “own” the books I bought on Kindle?  Well, yes and no, you did buy them but you can’t share them.  And since I bought my new iPad and use iBooks, I want my Kindle books in a format where I can save them and use them on my iPad.  Makes sense, I bought them, why can’t I put them where I want and use there in a reader of my choice.

The process is a tad bit difficult and not for the novice but it can be done and it works.  It might be wrong, most likely is, to remove the DRM from something but I bought it and I want it backed up.  I’m not sharing the books, other than to another reader that I own.  Seems a simple request.
